In my extensive site testing of two people who walked by my desk, they confirmed my beliefs.

I know our best products and pictures were not showcased. I knew navigation need some work.

Coming from a million years of experience in jewelry photography, our site was fugly. That was my professional diagnosis.

Taking the lead from our most popular Google ads, I decided when people clicked on Top 10 Hot New Toe Rings, they should end up there. People could end up where they thought they were going AND our top 10 products would be showcased for every category. Groundbreaking concepts for sure. What can I say, as a newbie to ecommerce, sometimes it takes a while for common sense to sink in.

So, although always a work in progress, I am now excited and amused by our fun, visually stimulating, easier to navigate, SkyeSterling.com.

Personally, I smile as I click around the site now, and go there on a regular basis for no reason at all. Before...not so much.

By all means, be my third site tester and let me know what you think.

In case you missed it, SkyeSterling Carle Place was the site of our first Bridal Jewelry Sample Sale. We received hundreds of new designs in sterling silver, cubic zirconia, and freshwater pearl just for the event.

"We've never really focused on bridal jewelry, but we've had a lot special orders from brides both through our two Long Island stores and online recently, so we started to pay attention. We realized that we really do carry a lot of jewelry for brides, bridesmaids and even flower girls. I even found a thread on LIWeddings.com where brides to be were talking about us. Although we already have a few thousand styles at the store, we were able to secure even more styles that we felt were very weddingish, but only for a few days. Many designs had very limited runs. They were samples created by our parent company and what did not sell, they needed back. The customers loved the merchandise and the prices were amazing.

SkyeSterling.com was finally born.

Nine months after the concept was conceived and a deal was made to sell on Amazon.

During that time SkyeSterling saw overnight success on Amazon. It just took 35 years to get here.

We-as in the few of us molding the new creation - dealt with a bizarre tornado and two Noah's arcish floods. I even had a baby somewhere during that time.

Its now nine months since I returned from maternity leave and my son is almost as demanding as the website.

Our quest to make every woman Divalicious has just begun.
